Once you have downloaded your chosen "iso" image of Zorin OS, you will need to burn this image to a DVD. For software that can do this, you can search for "dvd iso burning software" in the search box provided above. Your computer may already have CD/DVD burning software already installed such as "Brasero, K3B, Nero, CDBurnerXP or Roxio". Once you have burned your chosen "iso" image of Zorin to your Media, you will need to place your DVD disc into the DVD drive of the target system and reboot your system. As your computer system reboots, you will need to press the appropriate key to access your system's BIOS settings. On many systems this key will be "F8", "F11" or "F12". Most systems will display a message indicating which key needs to be pressed. Once you have access to your system's BIOS settings, you will need to modify the boot order of your system to boot from CD/DVD first. Once this change has been made, you can now reboot your system and follow the installation guide below. If you are installing into a Virtual Environment, simply copy the downloaded "iso" image to the relevant location provided by your software. If you are installing onto a computer that does not have an optical drive (CD/DVD), then you will need to copy the "iso" image to a USB stick and choose the option to boot from USB device. For instructions on how to make a bootable USB device, follow the link:

Once your system has booted, you will be greeted with a welcome screen similar to the one below. At this screen you have the option of "Try Zorin OS" or "Install Zorin OS". If you choose the option of "Try Zorin OS", you can try Zorin OS without installing anything to your systems hard drive. This option is very useful as it allows you to test your wifi settings and try out the operating system before committing to an installation. To "Install Zorin OS" Linux on to your hard drive, choose the option "Install Zorin OS". On the left of the screen you are given an option of selecting the Language that is to be used throughout your installation. In the example below "English" has been chosen.
At this screen you can select your keyboard settings and layout. In the example below I have chosen the keyboard layout "English (UK)". You can also try your keyboard settings by typing into the text box area provided. Once you have made your selection, click "Continue".
Updates and Other Software
The following screen now has two Installation types to choose from. You may choose "Download Updates" to install all available updates for the standard packages and software that come with this release of Zorin. You can also install third-party software for graphics, wi-fi hardware and any additional media formats that are available. In the example below, I have chosen both of these options. A third option is also available which asks if you would like to participate in a census that allows developers to count the number of Zorin users anonymously. Once you have made your selections, click "Continue".
At this screen several installation options are available to choose from. In the example below, I am installing to an empty disk with no other operating systems or data present. If you have another operating system present, Zorin should find this and give you additional options regarding installing this new system along side the existing system. In this particular example I have chosen the option of "Erase disk and install Zorin OS".
Write the changes to disk
Before you can continue with your installation, you will have to confirm you are happy with the changes that are going to be made to your disk(s). Click "Continue" or use the option "Go Back" to make any amendments to your previous selections.

From this screen you must choose your geographical location. If you have an active "Internet" connection, your location should be found automatically for you. This location setting will also be used for your system's time zone settings. If your location was not automatically found, or you wish to change the currently displayed location, simply type your new location into the search box provided.
